"Show Me Your Horse and I'll Show You Who You Are."

I have that quote on my facebook and for some reason had to giggle at it tonight.

So, looking at Denali one would say that I'm constantly breaking, crabby, really love to eat. Sadly that's all true. Are you and your horse anything alike?

Haha, that makes me sweet as long as things are going my way, fearless, hot tempered, sensitive and more than a little opinionated. Sounds about right. :)

Sometimes i scares me how similar we are :)

I'm a pretty good combination of mine: stubborn like Poco, goofy like Jaz and clueless like Daltrey.

Funny you mention that, because I feel like although Jimmy and I are "soul mates" in a sense, we're absolutely nothing alike. But upon further consideration...he's nervous, and worries. He likes to have a plan for what's next. He appreciates spontaneity, but if it's too much, he'll have a total meltdown. Some days he's just going to have a meltdown no matter what & there's nothing you can do about it...He always follows the rules but when he's feeling frisky, he really rebels & goes off the deep end wild. He's very appropriate and kindhearted to people, but to his friends he likes to know that he's the leader. He is afraid of the dark.

Funny - that's basically describing me. I didn't see the similarities until now!

I really don't think Chrome and I are that much alike . . . We're both friendly and I think it stops there. He's predictable, I'm unpredictable. He's sweet, I'm crabby. He's energetic, I'm lazy LOL! Actually he can be lazy sometimes too. :D

P.S. When do we start voting and where?

Flashy and unique on the outside, stubborn yet trainable on the inside. Enjoys skittles. Hates long car rides. Definitely not for beginners. Confident but still cautious even with the best leader directing our steps...Yup...Pong and I are very much alike :)

Wednesday!! (I think the voting starts! Don't worry I will make sure everyone and their family knows.)

Nicku- "Just for beginners." LMAO!!

We were JUST talking about this subject, at our stable's party Saturday.

All the people but myself, had chosen thier horses for this reason or that. Mine chose me..because she was oiven to me.

But yupp... Very Sensitive, a little fearfull, tends to be anticpatory, social, a Quick learner(show me-don't tell me)
And if she does NOT like something, get it over with= FAST.
Also...gets bored easily with the same ol', she craves new sights and trails.

You and Denali can take care of each other being so alike..YOU KNOW EXACTLY what she's going through!

Oh man, Buddy and I are exactly the same. Standoffish at times, don't like to be hugged, sensitive, tends to worry, hates apples, doesn't like surprises, but we both love food and playing in the dirt!

Hmm, that's a good question. Loves to eat, check, loves to roll in the mud, ... not really! Would love to just hang out and do nothing, check!
I'm sure I could find a few other traits...

Hahaha, I guess we share some things. We are both independent, but with loving hearts. Difference is that I am crabby and moody and opinionated, which is why I DON'T have a mare!

Stubborn, silly, and always up for an adventure? Yup.

Hmmm, something I've never though of! Short & a bit more "fluff" than necessary? Yup, we're alike there! haha Stubborn as can be, eager to please, fairly unpredictable & extremely food aggressive? Check, check & check. ;) She is much better at retaining information then I am though! Good luck with your kiddos! I've got some 5th graders who may well murder me if I don't show up with birthday treats Friday (my birthday is Saturday & Friday is my last day in their class)

Me and Peb are both laid back and easy going. Take everything in stride. Like to stroll through the woods but also love the competetion of being first to the top of the hills, then we just go back to casually walking. Don't ever dare us or challenge us...Peb (and me)are very competitive.
We can run the barrels then walk through the gate and take a nap. We both like sleep at every opportunity.
We both like to snack all day, LOL!
We both love the occasional twinkie, cherry turnovers and poptarts.
Neither of us are real lovey-dovey or affectionate, but will stand for hugs and kisses... as long as they are brief.

Well, my last horse Skipper was the following:
Sneaky [I can be], sure footed [NO], cautious of large crowds [definitely], did NOT like showing [ditto], being fussed over [yeah, okay, I do like it :P] and he had a happy-go-lucky personality [yep!]

Too bad we had to sell our farm, we would still be riding together. But the couple that owns him now pampers him endlessly, and give little "pony rides" every once in awhile to the neighborhood kids. He's in HEAVEN.

On that basis, I am greedy but usually willing, unless I can see something else I might like to do and, occassionally, use any excuse to have a fit... perhaps accurate

Hum, on that basis, I am greedy, consider all food is for me, but am affectionate, inclined to try it on but feel bad if caught and freak out at random plants and jackets when under saddle - about right!

I've been folloing your blog for a while - cried when I read it the other day. Look after yourself and take care, Dulce xxx
PS - if you think 30 is bad, 35 is much much worse!

I'm generally cold/shy towards strangers (I can be downright unfriendly just because I don't know what to say), apparently my horse is outright hostile! (actually, after being a cashier in a pizza place, I think there's a few people out there who think I'm hostile... I'm really not! but ten hour shifts dealing with strangers get old fast). He recently became mine because after I went to college his owner started trying to sell him, and I guess he eventually started bucking when other people tried to ride him... Then I came home and rode him bareback after a year away from him, all around the property in a very light snaffle and she offered him to me! He'll be coming up to school with me next semester!

She thinks he has "trust issues"... and I've said the same about myself before. But he's very calm, and sweet, and gentle once you get to know him.
