I haven't gone to see barn 2 yet. This weekend. Maybe.
A few weeks ago I called a barn that is 20 miles from my house. It doesn't have an indoor arena, but has great recommendations. It is $500.00 a month (which happens when you get closer to the city.) I know they have a waiting list, so I figured I'd try to get on it. Today she called me back to tell me that the barn has a long wait list for mares. Figures. Then she asked me about Denali. I had told her a little bit in my e-mail about our lack of riding ability and her other problems. Apparently she has a few stalls at her house with a large pasture and she's looking for a mare to keep her sister's mare company. It's not finished yet, butI'm going to go look at it in a week or so. It's not exactly what I want, and would prefer a barn environment where I can see other people (I like being social) but it might be a good back up plan if barn 2 doesn't work out. Not sure of a price yet. I hate barn hunting. Denali's issues make finding a barn difficult. (Large turn out, grass to eat so she works her neck, someone who can handle her moments of stupidity.)

There are so many things to consider in barn shopping. I can appreciate how nerve-wracking that must be. Hang in there.
Aw, sweets, it's an OPTION at least, right? You do sound very defeated and down...and lord knows changing barns is so stressful even in the best of situations. I just hate hearing the sadness in your writing. I hope you're ok...please remember so many people that you've never met (and some you have) are here for you. So is Denali, no matter what her issues...she is the best friend you could ever have, even if she is a pain in the ass and costing you more than a car:) Take care...
You'll find a place. You have TWO WHOLE OPTIONS right now, and probably more to come. Two options is a lot.
maybe a less social environment would be OK too...I relish my quiet time with me and pony only. :)
I like quiet, but I also like people around so that when she tramples me and I lay dying in the aisle way someone can call 911.
I'm sorry you're having so many problems finding a barn. It's good to keep your options open though. Is the vet asking you to leave or is it just getting too expensive? Do you have to leave by a certain time? Just try to breathe and take your time. I'll keep sending positive vibes. :)
