I lost 12 pounds overnight. Not in a good way. I'm really sick and wasn't able to go to the barn. The vet didn't feel well either, so she just did x-rays. No breaks. That's good. There was something else going on, that she said we will see better on a sonogram. SO for now, still on stall rest, we'll sonogram next week. She's e-mailing me the x-rays, so when I get them I'll post them.

TWELVE POUNDS?! Sounds like you need to go to the hospital! How awful, so sorry to hear that. Glad there're no breaks, feel better soon!
First off..I would loose 12 lbs any way I could take it! :)
I'm so happy to hear nothing broken! Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feel better soon - that sounds bad - glad the x-rays didn't show anything too bad and hope you get it sorted out.
Kristen, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Becky, I almost did go to the hospital, but my husband was at work and I didn't want to take a cab. I just drank lots and lots of liquids to keep from dehydrating. It was horrible!
The vet did mention that she will need stall rest (wait.. did I mention that, I forgot) and a sonogram to determine what kind of injury she has. It could be a bone bruise and she said something about the bone dying. I didn't pay much attention.
It's not to be iced or wrapped. Just rested. Next Wednesday we'll sonogram it.
Uck... I hope your exaggerating about the 12 lbs. not healthy any way you look at it. Hope you and the pony get better soon. Stall rest and TB's are no fun; been there and totally understand your frustration.
Sounds like an evil ailment, but heck, take that 12 lbs. and run with it. Talk about a silver lining!
Oh no! Sorry you're so sick. Rest up! Try not to worry too much about your girl, take it one day at a time as you get down to the bottom of what is going on. I'm not too familiar with bone bruises. When she spooked the other day you're thinking she wacked herself really hard then and that's what caused it it sounds like? Hang in there!
